Cindy Edelman

An active community volunteer, Cindy Edelman is the former chair of The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida and the Jacksonville Public Education Fund and has served on the boards of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, Leadership Jacksonville and Youth Leadership Jacksonville. She has been honored with the OneJax Humanitarian Award and the EVE Award for Volunteer Service. She is a past president of Congregation Ahavath Chesed and a founding member of the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. Recently retired as an AP Art History instructor, Ms. Edelman has taught in The Bolles School and Florida State College. Currently, she is a member of the board for JPEF, City Year, and teaches Art Appreciation to Seniors at the Jewish Community Alliance. She received her BA from Vanderbilt University and her MAT from Jacksonville University. A thirty three year resident of Jacksonville, Ms. Edelman is married to Daniel M. Edelman, and is the Mother of two daughters, Jay Meredith and Berry, one step-son, Zachary and Grandmother of Freda P. Zwass.
