Who We Are

A Girl-Led Movement

Girls at a GenWOW Event

In 2014, two girls from a Florida high school were so inspired by the WOW Experience that they came to us and said, “We want more.” Their boldness and courage inspired our team to build a community of WOW that girls can access all your long. For us WOW is a movement that inspires in schools using activity lessons, in communities through service and exposure programs, and in cities by bringing girls from all areas together in one place.

Generation WOW has always been driven by the voices and passions of teen girls. Launched in November of 2013 as a half-day program for girls and women to come together for education, inspiration, and connection, the Generation WOW Experience has exposed thousands of girls and women to the positive and the possible in cities across the US. The WOW Experience exposes girls to diverse career pathways, practical leadership development tools, mentorship, healthy living, goal setting, decision-making, and so much more. You can learn more about the signature WOW Experience here, or, scroll down to learn more about what becoming a WOW Girl looks like.

How You Can Connect

Explore the Curriculum

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be successful? Do you need some real-life ways to manage your stress? Are you curious about starting your own business? Are you your own worst critic? Generation WOW firmly believes that it’s not about where you start, it’s about where you finish. We have a team of dynamic women mentors who will help you navigate the tricky situations in life. Seriously, these women are here to help you connect with the positive and possible in your life and become your best self.

The WOW Curriculum was designed with you in mind. The activities cover topics like:

  • Self Esteem
  • Career Options
  • Friendship
  • Healthy Living
  • Managing your Emotions
  • Personal Finance

After all, we all have a little bit of WOW in us.  WOW girls want to be the best they can be; they are open to the positive and possible; and they want to change the world around them.  We see that in you!

Write a Letter

You are in the midst of creating your own story.  If you were able to magically communicate with her, what would you tell your younger or future self?

Our programs are built around WOWsdom! The girls guide to the Positive and Possible. The book is full of candid letters from women and girls in all stages of life that will inspire you to try new things, access your strengths, listen to your heart, and change your world.  It may even help you to forgive yourself for past mistakes and find a way to move toward your best self.

Most of us grow up with stories all around us – from storybooks before bedtime, to those family legends that come up year after year during the holidays. Stories are one of the most powerful tools for connecting that humans have.  If you would like to share your story or letter with us, we’d love to read it!  Who knows, we may even reach out to you to share your story on the WOW Stage!

Connect with a Mentor

Where you grow up, or your families' socio-economic status, should not determine your mentoring experience. Truth is, all girls could use a mentor to help you navigate through tough times. You know, those things that seem completely impossible to get through? We all have them, and that’s what mentors are for. Generation WOW mentors can help you open the door of possibility and then walk through with confidence. Whether you’re struggling with the stress of grades, family expectations, college decisions, mental health, or just feel like you need someone a bit older and wiser to confide in, WOW mentors are in their your corner, cheering you on, listening , and helping you find the positive and the possible in every situation.

Mentors and mentees connect at one of our Generation WOW Experiences, hosted in cities across the US, and then connect throughout the year in a way that works for you both. Check the map to see if there’s a WOW Experience near you!
