#WOWgirl Noelle Lambert’s grit and determination truly inspires us. Noelle was a college freshman with a scholarship in Women’s Lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts Lowell when she lost a leg due to a moped accident. Noelle refused to let the accident define her or stop her from shaping her own destiny. After receiving a specialized prosthesis created for athletes, Noelle fought back to regain her mobility and resume her athletic training. But there was more she wanted to do. Inspired to pay it forward, Noelle formed The Born to Run Foundation to help ease the financial burden for other young amputees. The Born to Run Foundation provides children and young adults with specialized prostheses and a community of peer support.
Noelle shares that despite the physical challenges she’s faced, losing her leg may have been one of the best things to happen to her. She has gained a new life purpose and a way to make lasting impact. In addition to her foundation work, Noelle is a member of the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Team. She currently holds the American record in the 100m for T73 classification group and is currently training for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.
“Everyone goes through difficult times in their lives,” Noelle said. “it’s just about finding out how to get back up, and always thinking to yourself that you are worth it and will be able to do anything you put your mind to.”
We are cheering her on!
