Dr. Betty Mbom

VP of Strategic Partnerships, Paradigm

Dr. Betty Mbom serves as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Paradigm, a healthcare technology company that is focused on providing equitable access to clinicals trials. In her role she leads strategic collaborations with providers to develop solutions for their clinical trial infrastructure. Previously, she was Vice President of Applied Experience at Syapse, where she led strategic collaborations with health systems and biopharmaceutical companies to address initiatives which include quality improvement and health disparities. Prior, she served as Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at Aetion. Throughout her time at Aetion, Betty led large-scale transformative initiatives such as building their client engagement strategy, restructuring their data operations and driving global execution of one of Aetions strategic partnerships. Additionally, she served as a team advisor for the Wharton Business School Healthcare Management Course Field Application Project.

Prior to joining Aetion, Betty was part of the Corporate Strategic Innovation group at Becton Dickinson (BD). While at BD, Betty co-founded BD Women in STEM, an associate network focused on finding female mentors in STEM and navigating gender differences. In 2014, she was the recipient of BD’s PreAnalytical Systems Organizational Innovator Award for spearheading efforts to utilize leading edge cell biology techniques in assessing potential novel technologies.

Betty received her PhD from Stanford University in Cell & Molecular Biology and her B.S. in Biology from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). Betty currently serves as a member of CMU’s Mellon College of Science Dean’s Council and was the recipient of the 2021 Carnegie Mellon Alumni Service Award for founding COMPASS , an organization focused on recruitment and retention of minority students in STEM.
